Dr. AV Keshava Prasad is a 1994 ISCA Young Scientist Award winner, ex-Antarctican and a Field geologist with 37 years of experience in the field of research in Experimental Petrology, Geological Mapping in various terrains and Exploration Geology. Besides, he has also worked as Head of Geology Consultancy and handled more than 20 commodities. He is also a member of Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM).
He served as Geologist in Geological Survey of India at Jabalpur, Faridabad and Bengaluru units; during his tenure at GSI Faridabad, he participated in 19th and 21st Indian Antarctic Expeditions and received Special Citation for his contributions and publications on Antarctic Research.
Between 2008 and 2012 He served as Chief Geologist at Council for Geosciences (CGS) in Pretoria, South Africa where apart from executing geological mapping projects in far-western Bushveld Igneous complex, he was also Geology Resource Person for Seismology and Geophysics Divisions of CGS. And from 2012 to 2016, He was Director Exploration at Tata Africa, Madagascar, guiding a greenfield Chromite project.
From 2017 to 2021, he was Head of Geology in DMT Consulting Private Ltd at Kolkata and then from 2022 to 2024 he was Vice President, Mineral Exploration at Gemcokati Exploration Pvt Ltd, handling NMET projects on PGE, Vanadium and associated Minerals at Balaghat, Madha Pradesh.
Presently he is on board at Geo Marine Solutions Pvt. Ltd. As Chief Geologist (Exploration).

Dr. Krishna is a marine biologist with 35 years of experience in Environmental Science, with an emphasis on marine environments. During 1986-2008, he worked as Senior Scientist and Principal Scientist in the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, at Karwar, Mangalore, Veraval and Kochi. Later in April 2008 he joined in the Center for Environment and Marine Studies, Research Institute, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and worked as Research Scientist (Professor) for 11 years.
He worked as project manager and lead technical expert on several client-funded projects in Saudi Arabia (Middle East) and India, related to environmental and biodiversity studies for Government and Corporate Bodies. He is having experience in the management and delivery of multidisciplinary environmental projects for terrestrial, coastal and marine environment, across a range of sectors, including coastal manufacturing and utilities, offshore oil and gas, dredging and land reclamation, and major infrastructure. He has teaching and student guiding experience at Masters and PhD levels, and successfully guided three (3) students to get PhD degree in marine sciences from the Mangalore University, Karnataka (India).
Dr. Krishna has international experience as a member of the Roster of Experts established by the GEF-UNEP, consultant for Asian Development Bank, and Board Member of the Society for Conservation Biology- Asia (SCB-Asia). He has published around 75 scientific papers in peer-reviewed international journals and authored 12 book chapters. He is a member of the journal editorial board, review editor, and peer reviewer of several international journals.
